The Amber Room was placed in the Catherine Palace of Tsarskoye Selo (summer residence of Russian tsars near Saint Petersburg). The amber room was covered by more than 55 square meters and contained over 6 tones of amber. It is a valuable piece of craft, which include gilding carvings, Danish amber panels, beautiful gemstones, looking glass and scultures. This location was used to house a collection of amber-work and Chinese crockery. There were lots of valuable furniture to saved and showed this beautiful collection. The Amber Room was stolen while World War IIby Army Group North of Nazi Germany and took to Konigsberg palace (smashed during an Allied bombarding) and then it disappeared.

There are many theories what the future of the Amber Room was.
One of them says that it was damaged by Allied bombs, second claimed that it was replaced from the palace and maybe locked up somewhere in the town, third – that it was loaded onto a boat, but soaked during the transport.
